Victory is Sweet

This weekend unlike many weekends was actually a successful one for me as far as football goes. This week my Hokies won in one of the most epic games of time and I am proud to say I witnessed it. This game was completely intense from start to finish. During the game people where going crazy, screaming at the top of their lungs, and jumping up and down in celebration.
This game started with a bang because on the first drive Dyrell Roberts returned the kickoff for an almost touchdown to lead the Hokies to a great drive. From this point on however the game was pretty slow. Most drives ended in punts or field goals and there were a few lead changes but nothing too exciting. As the end of the game got nearer the excitement began to pickup because it was dire that Virginia Tech scored to put them in the lead. Many drives where unsuccessful and just put the end of the game nearer.
Finally as time grew even closer to 0:00 the seemingly final opportunity presented itself. The Hokies had just one more drive to score and take the lead for good. It was fourth down and Tyrod through a zipping pass to Roberts which sipped right through his hands. After this play many people gave up hope and began to leave the stadium and the Nebraska fans where happy as could be.
This was not the end though. Nebraska got the ball back but was unsuccessful on their ensuing drive and had to punt the ball. This gave us one last hope that Tyrod would come through and lead us to victory. Once again it was fourth down however. This was the final shot of the game. Tyrod dropped back, looked around, scrambled out of the pocket, avoided a sack and then heaved the ball downfield into the arms of wide open Danny Coale. This miraculous play of course lead us to victory and I celebrated like no other. I should not have worried I knew my Hokies would not disappoint me.
On the other hand I had a overwhelming feeling the my Buffalo Bills would disappoint with yet another loss. This week the Bills played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I thought the Bills where sure to lose, this wasn’t my first rodeo as a Bills fan I know how the seasons go, so I wasn’t expecting a lot. But despite preparing for the worst and hoping for the best the Bills did win. This is especially good because the bills had just got off a crushing loss on Monday night to the Pats. Also the Bills where without Marshawn Lynch who is arguably our best player. This just added to the lackluster play that the Bills have been presenting in previous years. Although I could not watch this game on TV it surprised me because the bills where victorious and seemed like they played fairly well. This is a very god change of pace and I so desperately hope it continues. I am not too sure if I can take another season of disappointment.
